Job Title: DLA IA/Risk Management Framework (RMF) Technical Writer

Work Location: Ft Belvoir VA and surrounding areas

Education: HS education

Experience: Five years of recent experience (within the last ten years) with Department of Defense (DOD) technical writing. At least 2 years of relevant IT experience.

Certification: Must possess and maintain at all times one of the following certifications: Global Information Assurance Certification (GSLC), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), or System Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)          

Travel: Occasional

Specific Duties:

Under general supervision, edits and rewrites documents for grammatical, syntactical, and usage errors, spelling, punctuation, and adherence to standards.  Proofreads documentation and graphics for accuracy and adherence to original content; provides quality control checking for documents received from photocopying and word processing; assembles Master copies, including graphics, appendices, table of contents, and title pages; assists in scheduling printing, and copying. Assists in document tracking and logging, and consults with technical staff to determine format, contents, and the organization of technical reports and proposals.  Assists in collecting and organizing information required for preparation of user's manuals, training materials, installation guides, proposals, and reports.  Edits functional descriptions, system specifications, user's manuals, special reports, or any other customer deliverables and documents.

 

Minimum Experience:

  • Five (5) years of relevant Technical Writing experience

Skills:

  • Ability to perform certain tasks e.g., excellent proposal writing skills or problem solving skills;
  • Ability to multi-task;
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision;
  • Proficient Call Center customer support skills;
  • Knowledge of Remedy

 

Qualifications:

  • Must possess at least five (5) years of experience working with DOD technical writing. This experience must be within the last eight (8) years.
  • Must also have at least five (2) years of experience as a Cybersecurity Information Analyst on DOD projects or systems of similar scope.
  • A BA/BS degree or 4 years of IA writing experience is highly desired
