The USSTRATCOM Global Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance and Space Division (J84) is responsible for Global Sensor Integration on Networks (GSIN) functional management. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/HBC) is responsible for GSIN program management. GSIN was initiated to expose sensor data across the mission areas of Missile Defense, Missile Warning, Space Situational Awareness (SSA), and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR). Provide A&AS support for data production activities and demonstrations that encompass research, analysis, and assessment of strategic mission requirements and capabilities and produce reports and data products. Use current doctrine, publications, and coordination with other responsible organizations involved with USSTRATCOM as a basis for planning and support.


Job Duties: Assist with maintaining and updating existing architectures, data schemas and standard data formats produced in accordance with the current version of the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF), using approved architecture tools. Products shall incorporate guidance of higher-level direction, such as the DoDAF and the DoD IT Standards Registry (DISR) and investigate disconnects between current system architectures and future capabilities architectures. Contractor personnel shall work with the GSIN Government Lead Engineer to define and execute the GSIN data strategies and policies and assist with:
• Developing standard data formats and schemas for the SSA mission area. The formats and schemas shall be vetted among the SSA community as specified by the Government and approved by the C2 SSA Community of Interest.
• Conducting research regarding common data standards, formats and web services in support of GSIN while formulating user defined widgets and applications to enable visualization of all exposed data within the GSIN supported mission areas.
• Identifying candidate services by direct interactions with GSIN customers, sensor data providers, and consumers.
• Researching, evaluating, and preparing white papers and/or presentations on emerging technologies and the application of these technologies within the GSIN data environment as directed by the Government.
• Performing risk analysis and developing risk mitigation options for the application of technologies within the GSIN data environment.
• Preparing and maintaining schedules for the implementation of GSIN data schema changes and the application of new technologies.
• Preparing prototypes to assess the viability and feasibility of new technologies or technological approaches to meet current and future operational requirements.
• Conducting analysis of multiple disparate data formats to determine similarities/differences in the data structure and development of a technical approach that supports the integration of disparate data sources.
• Provide data administration and modeling support to the GSIN data environment to include Assisting with the identification and documentation of data requirements and associated metadata.
• Assist with reviewing current development approaches across industry, DoD, and other designated federal agencies to identify options capable of improving GSIN interoperability and ease of functional integration.
• Assist with evaluating "best practices" and evolving approaches, applicable and viable across DoD and other federal agency environments, to guide GSIN architecture definition and topology.
• Provide advice concerning GSIN governance definitions, processes, and service level agreements in addition to metadata standards, such as XML (Extensible Markup Language).
• Evaluate data exposure (SOA, web-services, etc.) activities and schedules to determine potential results and coordinating impacts.
• Provide education and training material specifically related to GSIN technical capabilities used by GSIN data providers and/or consumers.
• Provide systems engineering advice and consultation support to ensure the successful development and operation of GSIN capabilities. Prepare all necessary documentation for utilization of developed formats and schemas by data providers and consumers.


Requisite Personnel Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Joint processes, operations, and commands.
• Familiarity with end-to-end operations and processes from National level through Unit execution


Qualifications:
• A minimum of five (5) years of operational experience with MS Office Tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
• Knowledge of current national Missile Warning, Missile Defense, Space, and ISR mission activities.
• A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in systems engineering and systems integration expertise in complex DoD Family of Systems (FOS), System of Systems (SOS), and Enterprise Systems Engineering (ESE) programs/projects/efforts.
