Overview: USSTRATCOM/J7 Joint Exercises, Training, and Assessments Directorate enhances readiness and mission performance through joint exercises, wargames, training, and assessments.  J7 also leads the Lessons Learned/After Action programs, IT Test/Evaluation, Modeling/Simulations capabilities, and enables Command workforce professional development.  USSTRATCOM/J7 requires Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) for planning, development, execution, and analysis of Command-wide training, education, professional development, and organizational development programs and processes pursuant to SI 234-04, Workforce Onboarding and Development Program.

 

Specific Duties: Support professional development program activities that address identified training needs:

 

  • Maintain a variety of manual and electronic files and/or records for the purpose of providing up-to-date reference on individual and team clients.
  • Participate in meetings, workshops and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
  • Prepare a wide variety of written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference, and/or conveying information.
  • Research a variety of information (e.g. courses, materials, etc.) for the purpose of developing new programs that meet training and developmental needs. Respond to inquiries for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referral to appropriate personnel.
  • Plan, prepare, maintain/update, and execute developmentally aligned programs including: Employee engagement and Team consulting; Individual and Team Development Plans; Individual and Team assessments; Selection Support, Billet Calibration, and Mentorship.
  • In the role of consultant, use the USSTRATCOM competency models to align tailored developmental plans and events for both individuals and teams. Advise leaders, managers, supervisors, and individual team members on how to use the competency models to align their individual and team development plans with Command goals and objectives.
  • Facilitate leadership and functional assessments to support development plan creation for individuals, teams, and the Command.

  • Familiarity with USSTRATCOM organization desired
  • Familiarity with Joint processes, operations, and commands.

 

Qualifications:

  • Possess experience that demonstrates the ability to: 1) focus on customer needs, 2) communicate well verbally and in writing, 3) establish rapport with many different types of people, 4) critically evaluate problems and develop solutions, 5) rapidly adapt to change, and 6) organize plan and schedule.
  • At least 3 years' experience designing, planning, preparing, maintaining, updating, and executing professional development program activities and providing consulting services.
  • Possess an active/current Top Secret+ security clearance
