Overview: USSTRATCOM/J7 Joint Exercises, Training, and Assessments Directorate enhances readiness and mission performance through joint exercises, wargames, training, and assessments.  J7 also leads the Lessons Learned/After Action programs, IT Test/Evaluation, Modeling/Simulations capabilities, and enables Command workforce professional development.  USSTRATCOM/J7 requires Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) to support joint mission training support to include collective training and Command Staff preparations for CJCS assessments.

 

Specific Duties: Support collective training, to include the following:

 

  • Assist the government in the planning, preparation, maintenance/updating, and execution of: collective periodic training events (e.g., IMATs or similar media); annual Staff Assistance Visit (SAV) preparation for USSTRATCOM staffs, platforms, subordinate commands, other Combatant Commands, White House Military Office (WHMO), National Military Command Center (NMCC), Allies, and other Government agencies for Command mission-related scenarios; and, preparing and updating all training materials and scenarios including administrative data, agenda, scenarios, intelligence, injects, operations orders, messages, data collection forms, and other pertinent information.
  • Support the government in the design, planning, rehearsal, and conduct of all IMAT events (~400 per FY) including airborne and fixed comment centers.
  • Support the government in the coordination, integration, and execution of IMATs, demonstrations, Table Top Exercises (TTX), mini- exercises, or wargame events.
  • Provide Joint Event Control Group (JECG) augmentation and support the JECG during training, exercises, TTXs, and wargame events.
  • Support the government in the design, planning, rehearsal, and conduct of CJCS Staff Assessment Visit (SAV) training events.
  • Provide feedback for after-action reviews; recommend improvements for follow-on IMAT events; prepare and conduct hotwash briefings; and prepare and deliver after action reports.
  • Create and prepare media which may include administrative data, agenda, scenarios, operations orders, messages, data collection forms, and other pertinent information.
  • Provide exercise observers, trainers, assessors, facilitators and role-players, as required.

Qualifications:

  • Shall have at least 5 years of experience in Nuclear Command and Control to include experience in the planning, preparation, and execution of periodic training events (IMATs, etc.) OR 2 years' experience working with the Joint Event Control Group (JECG) and Joint Training and Exercise Control Center (JTECC). Experience must all have been in last 10 years.
  • Possess an active/current Top Secret+ security clearance
