Overview: The AOC Weapon System (WS) is the senior Command and Control (C2) element of the Theater Air Control System (TACS) and operational level focal point for C2 of air and space forces during Air Force (AF) and combined (coalition)/joint operations. Headquarters (HQ) Air Combat Command (ACC) is the Lead Command, Combat Air Force (CAF) lead, and force provider of AOC equipment and personnel as an Air Force component of United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) - [AFGSC], United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) [AFCENT], and United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) [AFSOUTH]. There are numerous AOC entities at separate locations world-wide, providing fixed and deployable, training and innovation, functional, and manpower augmentation capabilities

The 608 AOC requires Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) as AOC functional operators, technicians and subject matter experts (SME) to augment and enhance forces and operations as follows:

• Integrating 608 AOC operations, global strike, and global Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I);
• Planning, defining, implementation, and operational management of global communications systems, Common Operational Picture (COP) and the AOC WS;
• Employing an integrated systems approach to assist with properly developing, implementing, testing, planning, and managing the AOC WS;
• Building and maintaining Crew Mission Readiness program for the AOC WS Training and STAN/EVAL support functions;
• Developing and promoting best Knowledge Management practices using cyber operational data for Senior AOC Leadership.

Specific Duties:  C4I System Requirements Manager:

• Coordinate C4I system requirements (e.g., systems, software, user account, data, etc.)
• Work with the Common Operational Picture (COP) Manager to design, execute, and manage the AOC COP architecture;
• Direct, perform and coordinate AOC weapon system (WS) end-to-end validation test prior to and during exercises and operations;
• Ensure receipt of information and proper data exchange from other C4I system equipment into the AOC weapon system;
• Submit validated C4I requirements to the Chief, AOC Communications Team (ACT);
• Submit user account information to the System Administrator;
• Validate and prioritize C4I system software problem reports (SPR), baseline change requests (BCR), and documentation change requests (DCR);
• Ensure receipt of information and proper data exchange from other C4I system equipment into the AOC weapon system;
• Ensure systems and versions compatibility with sister and coalition forces;
• Establish system access and password issue processes.
• Establish and modify AOC weapon system profiles and permissions to meet AOC Divisions/Cell/Team requirements.
• Ensure proper levels of security are maintained.
• Develop, maintain, and coordinate AOC weapon system downtime and upgrades and timelines, establishing and coordinating priorities as appropriate
• Assist in C4I architecture development.
• Provide AOC weapon system expertise and technical advice to the AOC Configuration Management process.
• Oversee the AOC Floor organization and equipment placement.
• Coordinate with the AOC Division Chiefs and CST to determine database backup process and timelines.
• Coordinate with the AOC Information Management Office (IMO) / Knowledge Operations Manager to develop web server, shared file server, and data archiving requirements.
• Act as the United States Message Text Format (USMTF) focal point for the AOC for collecting and submitting recommended changes to the AOC WS Lead Command at the operational level.
• Coordinate with higher headquarters (HHQ) on theater-wide C4I systems issues at the operational level to include acting as focal point for coordinating theater-wide operational cutover to new versions of systems and software.
• Travel in support of operations in support of exercises and experiments.
• Participate in AOC Weapons System Development and Operational Tests.
• Conduct CM audits and physical inventories.
• Establish and conduct initial and annual configuration management training to site personnel.
• Assist the Information Assurance Manager in resolving site security and accreditation issues.

Qualifications:

• Active current TS+ security clearance
• Possess at least three (3) years of demonstrated relevant experience working with AOC Weapon Systems and familiarity with Air Force Instruction (AFI) 13-1 AOC Volume 3 Operational Procedures Air and Space Operations Center, secure facility access processes
• Possess one or more of the related communications systems or certifications specified below:
  • NIPRNet and SIPRNet network enterprise environments;
  • Microsoft Windows operating system software for servers and workstations;
  • Solaris operating systems;
  • VMWare;
  • Oracle software for servers and workstations;
  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification;
  • A current IAT level II certification;
  • Completion of a formal C2 FTU AOCIQTSYS and/or AOCIQTNET course or equivalent
• Possess more than five (5) years of demonstrated relevant experience with the following:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent demonstrated knowledge of Air Force C4I systems, AOC systems and software
  • Completion of Configuration Management II course or ANSI EIA 649 certification; and
  • Participation in AOC exercises or operations as C4I System Manager or Deputy C4I System Manager.
  • Experience supporting AOC operations within classified environments to include SIPRNet and JWICS.; and
  • (Desired) Air Staff, MAJCOM or NAF staff experience
• Possess demonstrated relative knowledge of intelligence capabilities, processes, and tasking mechanisms necessary to support Government efforts for performance of AOC Weapon Systems (WS) (highly desired).
