Specific Duties:

  • Responsible for directing technical work on projects. Performs a variety of analyses and prepares appropriate documentation.
  • Prepares and makes briefings and presentations.
  • Leads team in on-site management of installations.
  • Works independently and installs, operates, maintains, configures, troubleshoots, and repairs IT systems devices, circuits, cables, components, software, and end-user devices, components, software and connectivity.
  • Assists in the development and management of project plans. This includes the review of task performance and work products for correctness, for adherence to design concepts and user requirements, and for progress in accordance with schedules.
  • Coordinates with the Vendor PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.

 

Skills:

Seven (7) years of progressive IT experience including at least five projects below. At least one project must have occurred within the past three (3) years. Hands-on knowledge and experience in all aspects of Windows Server Administration is preferred.

  • System deployment and adherence to DLA life cycle management policies and procedures.
  • Install software, apply patches, manage file systems, monitor performance and troubleshoot alerts from monitoring tools.
  • Perform system failure analysis and recovery; insuring the consistency and integrity of file systems.
  • System security patching, upgrades, and configuration/policy changes in compliance with all relevant and required Information Assurance (IA) and security implementation/compliance requirements, including DISA Security Technical Information Guides (STIGs), identified during STIG reviews, Gold Disk, vulnerability Scans, etc.
  • Responsible for account administration and user access control to the systems that they administer.
  • Responsible for monitoring the system logs for growth patterns, trends, and intrusion detection.
  • Provides test support to include supporting integration testing, analyzing test results and assisting in acceptance testing of software components.
  • Conducts research and investigation into technological developments in such areas as operating systems, and software systems for installing, monitoring and maintaining operating systems and executive software.
  • Install, configure and maintain Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) software products that provide operating system support such as Netbackup, McAfee and other products per J6 direction.
  • Configures and maintains system backups to conform to IA controls requirements.
  • Assists with the selection, research and analysis, and design of virtual and standalone server and workstation specifications and configurations. Also, provides analysis and selection for features such as encryption solutions as needed
  • The Contractor shall assist Government administrators remotely to provide systems management and technical troubleshooting support to DLA for UNIX systems at one or more of the DLA operating locations as needed to include Red Hat Linux (version 5 or higher), HP-UX (version 11.31 or higher) and Solaris (version 10.0 or higher).
  • Resolve UNIX system installation problems and independently works with the vendors until problem resolution.
  • Maintain the integrity of system baselines and provides audit checks of all systems and backups as required.
  • Perform system/application diagnostics through the use of Government-provided maintenance tools to ensure availability and to provide a notification vehicle of problems to administrators.

Qualifications:
