Schedule:  Primarily Monday Friday day shift. May be required to perform 24/7 shift work and on-call support as requested by the government during exercises and contingencies.

LCAT: Database Architect

Overview: In this position you will ensure the Strategic Mission Assurance Data System (SMADS) database is modifies, upgraded, maintained, secured, and available to the SMADS frontend.

Specific Duties:

• Develop database architecture as required to support development of new capabilities outlined in requirements documents approved by the government.
• Update and document the database design baseline as new iterations of SMADS are developed.
• Support and maintain an Entity-Relationship (ER) model of the database schema in accordance with the USSTRATCOM Enterprise Data Model (EDM) standards.
• Define new objects only when necessary using or adapting preexisting EDM objects as much as possible.
• Participate in remediation of any data discrepancies within the user community acting as a liaison between all interested parties for inconsistencies.
• Provide support for database librarian/maintenance tasks and provide quality control to check for anomalies in the data that conflict with established business rules.
• Design, implement, backup, and restore multiple database schemas.

Skills:  

• Possess the knowledge and experience to perform the duties listed above.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, review complex directives and guidance and provide recommendations on system compliance with directives.
• Strong written and verbal skills.

Qualifications:

• Active/current Top Secret+.
• 12+ years of experience designing, developing, modifying, and sustaining databases for database centric systems.
• Experience integrating Oracle Spatial with GIS applications such as ESRI.
• Experience with Database Programing to develop a functioning backend that evolves to continually support a web-application frontend.
• Experience developing database models at the software and functional levels.
