Overview: S4 Inc. is seeking a Director of Business Development. As a member of the leadership team, this individual identifies and implements business development projects relating to new products and/or industries, technologies, or services.

 

The business development director will be responsible for the growth of the Company's pipeline and will promote collaboration across the divisions in order to achieve synergies and profitable growth. The successful applicant for this position has responsibility for key business development efforts across all phases of the business acquisition process and must be sufficiently self-motivated to create new business thrusts in support of S4 Inc.'s strategic objectives.

 

This role works with a geographically dispersed team that provides support to all of the locations within the Company.

 

Job Duties: Director of Business Development responsibilities include:

 

  • To help establish more discipline in processes and procedures for the capture process
  • Assist in providing guidance to everyone involved in BD activities to focus on a key list of opportunities
  • Establish a gate review process
  • Work opportunities through the capture process, including themes, teaming, and customer interface
  • Able to adjust and be fluid in activities within a small business setting.
  • Knowledgeable and capable of being involved in a proposal process if necessary
  • Identifies markets, licensing opportunities, and determines the feasibility of product development
  • Performs economic analyses on new or improved product opportunities and/or business models and coordinates with internal departments in identifying/implementing business development projects.
  • Work with operations and potential customers to determine their needs
  • Develops and disseminates information on a continuous basis to all pertinent parties concerning the fulfillment of project goals and objectives.

 

 

Qualifications: To be qualified for this position you must possess:

 

  • An active current Secret security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree and at least 10 years hands-on experience in Business Development, Strategic Capture, or Program Management
  • Proven track record of sustained business growth with large government programs across a broad range of customers and contract vehicles
  • Knowledge of the Federal Government, in particular the Department of Defense acquisition process, export, and policy governing sales of defense equipment nationally and internationally
  • Thorough knowledge of government procurement and business development process (identification, qualification, capture and bid activities)
  • Proven ability to develop and implement creative strategies to win bids
  • Ability to select and resource priority captures to drive awards growth at or above market growth
  • Excellent written and oral presentation skills including the ability to generate written material to communicate to customers at all levels, including senior executives
