CLC: Exercise Planner - Mid Level

Provide NORAD-USNORTHCOM (N-NC) J71 with direct support by providing the customers with support to plan, develop, execute, analyze, and assess N-NC exercises and events. For exercise/event planning and training support, provide technical assistance and data, information management for analysis, coordination, planning, execution, and after action reporting. To accomplish this, review appropriate Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff (CJCS) and N-NC exercise and training planning guidance and directives. Support research, information analysis, exercise and training development, and technical support to implement the Commander's joint/combined training and objectives.

Use current joint training doctrine, Joint and Command publications, and coordination with N-NC and other inter-agency organizations as a basis for planning and support. Coordinate the integrated participation of DHS, Federal, State, Local, Tribal, Private Industry and multinational agencies into N-NC exercises, to include full play, Response Cells and Joint Exercise Control Group (JECG) representation and are assisting the Government effort to institutionalize the opportunity to Leverage Military Training (LMT) into training exercises.

Job Duties: Provide NORAD-USNORTHCOM J71 with the following support:

. Provide technical assistance and data, information management for analysis, coordination, planning, execution, and after action reporting for exercise/event planning and training support.

. Support N-NC/J7 synchronization and coordination for USNORTHCOM support to and participation in the Nuclear Weapons Accident Incident Exercise (NUWAIX) exercises, Senior Leader facilitated discussions and the Master Scenario Event List (MSEL) synchronization conferences.

Requisite Personnel Qualifications:

. Critical thinking skills, both qualitatively and quantitatively . Ability to prepare a well-grounded, defensible argument . Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal . Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task . Strong technical and analytical skills . Ability to work independently and as part of a team . Familiarity with NORAD-USNORTHCOM organizations desired . Familiarity with Joint processes, operations, and commands

Qualifications:

. Experience operating/designing/supporting no less than 3 Joint Training System (JTS) life cycles . Possess 4 years of Joint Planning, Joint Exercise, Joint Training, Joint Education, Planning, or Operations Experience . Possess 4 years of Combatant Command or Joint Staff Experience . Possess 6 years of experience in two of following: 1) SPEC OPS functional expertise; 2) CBRNE functional expertise; 3) planning and/or conducting Defense Support to Civilian Agencies (DSCA); 4) direct support to or functioning as part of a USG, non-DoD agency; 5) critical infrastructure protection/mission assurance functional expertise; 6) interagency/multi-agency/inter-governmental activities or 7) Nuclear Weapon Accident/ Incident Exercise (NUWAIX) expertise . Possess 3 years of direct experience with JTS/ Joint training Information Management System (JTIMS) (to include Joint Training Plan/ Joint Master Scenario Events List

(JTP/JMSEL)) and two of the following systems: JTIMS, Joint Lessons Learned Program/ Joint Lessons Learned Information System/ Advanced Lessons Management System (JLLP/JLLIS/ALMS), or Defense Readiness Reporting System

(DRRS)
