Schedule:  Primarily Monday Friday day shift. May be required to perform 24/7 shift work and on-call support as requested by the government during exercises and contingencies.

LCAT: Subject Matter Expert (SME)

Overview: In this position you will be required to configure and maintain the SMADS geographic information system (GIS) server to ensure accurate display of data from the Strategic Mission Assurance Data System (SMADS) database.

Specific Duties:

• Develop geospatial capabilities according to requirements documents approved by the government.
• Support geospatial mapping functionality for new or existing applications development using applications such as Flash, JavaScript, and ASP.NET technology.
• Use geospatial tools to integrate existing models of develop and integrate new models and algorithms to assess potential effects on geospatially displayed CI and key resources from various natural and manmade events.
• Document all product designs, to include all mathematical models, GIS server configurations, GIS products, system architecture and interfaces between different servers.
• Ensure that the SMADS web client (frontend) accurately displays all geospatial data from the database (backend) and all models generated by the system.

Skills:  

• Possess the knowledge and experience to perform the duties listed above.
• Ability to work both independently and in a team environment, review complex directives and guidance and provide recommendations on system compliance with directives.
• Strong written and verbal skills.

Qualifications:

• Active/current Top Secret+.
• 12+ years of experience with Environmental Sciences Research Institute (ESRI) or similar product.
• Experience with the configuration, installation, upgrade and development of ESRI ArcGIS technologies to include ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Spatial Data Engine (SDE), and ArcGIS desktop.
• Experience writing Python geo-processing scripts to be used in ArcGIS Services that provide map images and feature class results.
• Experience developing Flash, JavaScript, and Arc Object applications.
• Experience with the integration of Oracle Spatial and GIS similar to ESRI products.
• Experience creating raster and vector data used n GIS applications for cross application integration.
• Experience with deployment of all ESRI server technologies including Software Development Kit (SDK) and runtime engine installation.
