Schedule: M-F, occasional night and weekends

Travel: Minimal

Specific Duties Include:

The Junior System Administrator will administer and optimize a VMware and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) environment to maximize uptime, system configuration, and accounting of system data. The successful candidate will support recovery, integrity, availability, scalability and performance of the virtual infrastructure and related components.

• Operating, maintaining, optimizing, and expanding the virtual infrastructure to include virtual servers and virtual desktops using VMware technology.  
• Providing Tier 2 support on VDI; support shall be on- and off-site

• Performing system administration on VDI, including troubleshooting, patch management, desktop image maintenance, application virtualization, testing and integration
• Creating new, or improve existing support procedures and training documentation for operational support team to use
• Installing, configuring and maintaining a scalable and high availability virtual environment utilizing VMware Horizon View 7.x and Liquidware

Desired Experience:

• VMware and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) administration
• Maintaining and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows server, application deployment with platforms such as VMWare, Horizon View and Liquidware
• Ability to troubleshoot, identify and correct malfunctions and help resolve multi-faceted problems
• Working knowledge of server, network, personal computer (PC) and application deployments
• 3 or more years of work experience in network/server administration
• Knowledge of VMware ESXi
• Working knowledge of thin/zero client technologies such as Wyse, HP, etc

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's or technical degree in computer science, information systems or other industry related curriculum OR relevant work experience in lieu of the educational requirements
• Current Security+ CE, and current Windows 10, and current VMWare Certified Associate (VCA) or ability to acquire within 30 days certification are required.
