Job Duties: Provide information technology engineering support and SME for mobile IT initiatives.  Serve as support focal point for review, analysis and recommendations on technical solutions, process improvements, and strategies for mobile IT projects for AMC and Mobility Air Forces (MAF).  Identify and support implementing Government approved integrated solutions merging technologies and technical knowledge of Air Force systems to include all mobile IT programs through the performance of project/program management activities.  Provide communication, coordination, organization, and planning expertise required for technical and programmatic efforts across a broad spectrum of activities to include the following: planning support, technical support, program status reporting, requirements development support, and management review support.  Analyze, understand, and support required tasks and processes required to integrate mobile (and associated) technology into existing systems or in conjunction with other emerging technologies.  Architecture and design analysis are major tasks associated with integration, to include technical solutions.  Maintain compliance with higher/competent authority standards when evaluating equipment or analyzing solutions.  Determine if solutions cannot meet current standards, and document change requests/waivers, as needed, through Government authority.  Evaluate major end-user, edge equipment, and corresponding ancillary equipment with respect to current industry standard products.  Recommend solutions to replace or migrate to COTS products and practices, as appropriate. 

Required Skills:

        Perform discovery and needs analysis for emerging technologies.

        Perform capability planning function.

        Apply analytical and computational techniques and methodology for problem resolution.

        Apply reverse engineering and re-engineering disciplines to troubleshoot infrastructure issues, as required.

        Perform continual assessments of current technology environment and provide proposals/recommendations for implementing and upgrading technology and infrastructure, as required.

        Provide recommendations on optimal emerging technology solutions for voice/data connectivity, local area networks (such as Wi-Fi and alternate Government networks), servers, data storage, and building communications infrastructure supporting initiatives to modernize and revolutionize.

        Experience recommending specific organizational and technology improvements.

        Experience recommending Vendor specific hardware/software and determining and evaluating contingency and disaster recovery plans.

        Experience with converged networks from design to implementation

Qualifications:

        Must understand writing at Major Command level to include staffing documents. 

        Ability to work taskings with little or no direct supervision.
