Overview: The AOC Weapon System (WS) is the senior Command and Control (C2) element of the Theater Air Control System (TACS) and operational level focal point for C2 of air and space forces during Air Force (AF) and combined (coalition)/joint operations. Headquarters (HQ) Air Combat Command (ACC) is the Lead Command, Combat Air Force (CAF) lead, and force provider of AOC equipment and personnel as an Air Force component of United States Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) - [AFGSC], United States Central Command (USCENTCOM) [AFCENT], and United States Southern Command (USSOUTHCOM) [AFSOUTH]. There are numerous AOC entities at separate locations world-wide, providing fixed and deployable, training and innovation, functional, and manpower augmentation capabilities

The 608 AOC requires Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) as AOC functional operators, technicians and subject matter experts (SME) to augment and enhance forces and operations as follows:

• Integrating 608 AOC operations, global strike, and global Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (C4I);
• Planning, defining, implementation, and operational management of global communications systems, Common Operational Picture (COP) and the AOC WS;
• Employing an integrated systems approach to assist with properly developing, implementing, testing, planning, and managing the AOC WS;
• Building and maintaining Crew Mission Readiness program for the AOC WS Training and STAN/EVAL support functions;
• Developing and promoting best Knowledge Management practices using cyber operational data for Senior AOC Leadership.

Specific Duties:  Operational ISR Subject Matter Expert:

• Manage all AOC intelligence systems in direct support to the AOC Director as outlined in AFI 13-1 AOC Volume 3. Provide operational ISR subject matter expertise on AOC ISR to ensure that configuration, capabilities, and database information supports AOC ISR Division requirements.
• Coordinate with ISR Division personnel to ensure intelligence information systems are integrated and support all AOC processes for all operations, exercises, and tests.
• Provide operational assistance to users of intelligence information systems and initial troubleshooting of system failures for all operations, exercises, and tests.
• Serve as a liaison for the AOC ISRD to the ACOMS on any ISR specific systems requirements, plans and/or projects.
• Ensure receipt of information and proper data exchange, i.e. target lists, MIDB, etc. from other C4I system equipment into AOC ISR systems.
• Develop, maintain, and coordinate AOC ISR systems downtime and upgrades and timelines, establishing and coordinating priorities.
• Participate in Development Test and Evaluation (DT&E) and Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) of C2 systems and new technologies as the ISR system and application subject matter expert.
• Provide Intelligence subject matter expertise support to customer as required (i.e. meetings, briefings, white papers, opinions).
• Collaborate with local AOC Training Managers to ensure MQT requirements and instructions are accurate and reflect AOC ISR configurations, technologies and support responsibilities.
• Travel in support of operations in support of war, contingency and humanitarian operations, exercises and experiments.
• Works with WSM to establish and modify AOC weapon system profiles and permissions to meet AOC IRD JWICS requirements.
• Assist the configuration manager with the implementation and strict compliance of System Program Office (SPO) and MAJCOM CM policies as well as site specific standards.
• Assist configuration manager in maintaining CM status accounting records containing baseline information on ISRD systems floor plans and architectures.

Qualifications:

• Active current TS+ security clearance
• Willing and able to travel when required
• Previously been certified as mission ready in an Air Operations Center or individually possess at least two (2) years of relevant experience working with AOC Weapon Systems and familiar with Air Force Instruction (AFI) 13-1 AOC Volume 3 Operational Procedures Air and Space Operations Center, secure facility access processes
• Possess one or more (1/1+) of the related communications systems or certifications specified below:
  • NIPRNet and SIPRNet network enterprise environments;
  • Microsoft Windows operating system software for servers and workstations;
  • Solaris operating systems;
  • VMWare;
  • Oracle software for servers and workstations;
  • Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator (RHCSA) certification;
  • CompTIA Security+ CE certification
  • IAT level II certification(s) IAW DoD 8570.1-M Information Assurance Workforce Improvement program;
  • Completion of a formal C2 FTU AOCIQTSYS and/or AOCIQTNET course or equivalent
• Bachelor's degree required from an accredited institution in a field applicable to this position [e.g. information systems, computer science] and one year of experience) or minimum three (3) years of experience working with AOC ISR systems and software (five years or more experience is highly desired) providing ISR expertise and support (maintenance, logistics, and life cycle support) for government; and
• Completion of formal AOC FTU Course or equivalent; completion of Configuration Management II course or ANSI EIA 649 certification desired. Completion of service intelligence course required.
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience of joint and AF ISR capabilities. Real world contingency experience is desired.
• Participation in AOC exercises or operations as AOC ISR division member.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of the following AOC Processes: Strategy Development; Target Development; Weaponeering and Allocation; Master Air Attack Plan (MAAP) development; ATO Execution; and Assessment.
• (Desired) Air Staff, major command (MAJCOM), Numbered Air Force (NAF) and/or Combatant Command (COCOM) staff experience.
