Education: Associate degree in business-related field or significant equivalent experience.

Experience: Six months - 2 Years

Certification: Current CompTIA Security+ (or higher)

Salary: Commensurate with experience

Under general supervision, the individual will monitor and respond to technical control facility hardware and software problems utilizing hardware and software testing tools and techniques.  He/she may interface with contractor support service groups to ensure proper escalation during outages or period of degraded system performance, and assist with installation of terminals and associated hardware, and provide network server support.

Specific Duties: The PC Technician's role is to support and maintain in-house computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. These duties include:

• Installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance
• Troubleshooting problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion
• Provide support to users in conducting VTC sessions, monitor VTC equipment and system performance
• Provide end user training and assistance where required
• Assist in preparing, maintaining, and upholding procedures for logging, reporting, and statistically monitoring PC performance
• Accurately documenting instances of hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal
• Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for meeting future computer hardware needs
• Support development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations

Required Qualifications:

• Active current DoD Secret clearance
• Current Security+ or higher certification
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to document problems and work with little to no supervision
• Must have previous VTC experience

Skills:

Requires strong knowledge of PC/Network communications hardware/software, in a multi-protocol environment, and network management software.
