Job Description Summary

Apply knowledge of the current geopolitical environment to assist in developing responses to internal and external audiences for national-level strategic guidance. Study the origin, development, and operation of key political systems. Study topics such as public opinion, political decision-making, and ideology. Analyze the structure and operation of partner nation governments, as well as various political entities. Summarize and interpret guidance and communicate effectively (verbally and written) in sufficient detail for Command-wide circulation. Support development and delivery of presentations to explain the logic and content of strategic documents, partners, and other stakeholders. Attend working group meetings at appropriate locations, research, draft, and provide supporting papers and briefings on related strategic issues.

Job Duties

• Assist in the creation and implementation of Strategy and Security Cooperation (SC) plans and activities that encourage and enable domestic and international partners to work with the stakeholders to achieve national security strategic objectives.
• Assist in the evaluation and assessment of key national security documents.
• Assist in the preparation of executive quality regional and/or country trip books and briefings to prepare executive leadership for foreign Key Leader Engagements.
• Attend and contribute to conferences and planning events as requested to facilitate the development of regional SC plans and ensure collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Assist in coordination, scheduling, and facilitation of working group meetings. Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing external visits.
• Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing forums for key stakeholders.

Basic Qualifications

• Current active TS+ clearance
• Experience with forum/seminar planning and execution
• Experience with facilitating foreign Key Leader Engagements (KLE)
• Understanding of the current geopolitical environment
• Understanding of U.S. national security policies and objectives
• Understanding of the U.S. Government (USG) laws and policies regarding Security Assistance (SA) and Security Cooperation (SC) programs
• BA/BS Degree

Desired Qualifications

• Two years of experience in Department of Defense strategic/operational planning
• Two years of experience with Security Cooperation (SC) and/or Security Assistance (SA) programs
• BA in Political Science or Regional Studies
• Defense Institute of Security Cooperation Studies (DISCS) graduate
