CLC: SOCNORTH Signature Reduction Analyst

Job Duties:

        Perform Signature Reduction Analysis and support for SOCNORTH staff and systems.

        Analyze the vulnerabilities of SOCNORTH systems to cyber intrusion and develop strategies to reduce the risk of compromise.

        Maintain knowledge of the field of digital forensics and predict methods adversaries would use to exploit systems and devices in use by SOCNORTH personnel and brief them about these risks and make recommendations to mitigate them.

        Develop procedures and recommend policies to protect agency information against intelligence collection.  This involves knowledge of adversary intelligence collection methods and development of countermeasures.

        Advise SOCNORTH personnel on the risks associated with issued mobile devices and methods to mitigate those risks.

        Review the Electronic Signatures of personnel assigned to SOCNORTH as they appear in various forms of social media and inform said personnel on methods to reduce or modify their signatures to match the needs for specific missions. 

        Maintain up-to-date knowledge of common social engineering practices used by adversaries and recommend countermeasures to defeat these practices.

        Maintain awareness of current wireless systems available to personnel in their operating environments and the threats they pose.  In coordination with the J6 directorate, they will work to maintain the security of these systems and make recommendations for their safe use.

Required Skills: The work will require expertise, and practical operational experience in support of the SOCNORTH mission:

        Understanding of the USNORTHCOM and SOCNORTH organizations and missions.

        Knowledge of adversary intelligence collection methods and development of countermeasures.

        Experience with providing Signature Reduction Analysis

        Knowledge in the field of digital forensics
