S4 Inc. is seeking an experienced VTC/AV Technician to join our team supporting the Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Services (NITES) program effort is in direct support of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)/United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM).
NORAD is a United States and Canada bi-national organization charged with the missions of aerospace warning, aerospace control and maritime warning for North America. Aerospace warning includes the detection, validation, and warning of attack against North America whether by aircraft, missiles, or space vehicles, through mutual support arrangements with other commands. NITES provides a full spectrum of enterprise IT services and management. Services provided will implement, among other DoD initiatives, zero trust at every level.
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of Unclassified/Classified/REL Video Teleconference (VTC) systems and Audio/Video (A/V) systems, including conference rooms, satellite television/broadcast systems, and related services. This role requires a skilled professional who can ensure the reliability and functionality of these systems while providing top-notch support for high-priority events and leadership needs.
- VTC and A/V System Management:
- Design, install, upgrade, configure, operate, and maintain VTC systems, A/V systems, VTC Multipoint Control Units (MCU), Virtual VTC Bridges, desktop VTC systems, and conference rooms.
- Perform monthly preventative maintenance for all conference rooms to ensure functionality and identify deficiencies.
- Respond to short-notice requirements and provide 24/7 troubleshooting support, ensuring a one-hour response time for off-duty issues.
- Operate, configure, and monitor scheduled NIPRNet/SIPRNet VTCs, providing feedback to Government Service Owners on any issues.
- Incident Management:
- Monitor and update Service Desk Incident and Service Requests related to A/V and VTC, ensuring Quality of Service (QoS) and minimal downtime.
- Prioritize and escalate tickets based on severity and categorization.
- System Design and Configuration:
- Design, install, configure, operate, and maintain COTS software and Government-furnished A/V and VTC hardware.
- Continuously monitor vendors for hardware/software version upgrades and provide recommended options to the Government Service Owner.
- Support and Coordination:
- Attend weekly A/V and VTC Working Groups to provide input on projects, maintenance, and future plans.
- Provide on-site support for control system design, hardware support, and programming, ensuring compliance with TS/SCI classification requirements.
- Manage and operate the N&NC community antenna television (CATV) system, providing Tier 1/2 support and coordinating with satellite service providers.
- Conference Room Support:
- Schedule, set up, configure, and support conference rooms based on event requirements.
- Perform operational checks on A/V and VTC equipment, configure room settings, and assist with microphone and camera placements.
- Support multiple simultaneous events, providing basic A/V, VTC, and IT troubleshooting.
- Assist Protocol, Action Officers, and Points of Contact (POCs) with room configuration, seating charts, and flag set-up for events.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in VTC and A/V systems management.
- Technical expertise in VTC systems, A/V systems, VTC Multipoint Control Units, Virtual VTC Bridges, and related hardware/software.
- Experience with NIPRNet/SIPRNet VTC operations.
- Ability to perform under pressure with short-notice requirements and 24/7 support.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to prioritize and manage incidents.
- Strong communication skills to provide feedback to Government Service Owners and collaborate with team members.
