Overview: Provides day-to-day support to customers in wireless network, VPN and VoIP environment, including Incident management; Performs in wireless hardware and software refresh and required (Hardware refresh); Performs upgrade and patch of wireless devices; and develops wireless network infrastructures and make recommendations on systems enhancements for optimization.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on experience implementing various wireless LAN, technologies and end-user support
  • Experience with Wireless LAN design, configuration, and troubleshooting experience
  • Experience installing and configuring Cisco Switches, Routers, WAP, firewalls
  • Configure and troubleshoot Access Points, Wireless Controllers, routers, switches, firewalls, QoS, VPN, IPS, TACACS+, ACS (AAA), Radius, IAS, QOS, etc.
  • Upgrade software images onto Wireless Controllers, Wireless APs, routers, switches, firewalls
  • Monitor the wireless network and devices and perform wireless network maintenance and device upgrades.
  • Define and configure SSIDs, strong encryption, wireless and wired 802.1x using radius authentication, authentication between the client and the network using pre-shared keys or Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP), VPNs, WPA combined with MAC ACLs
  • Solid and strong understanding of TCP and IP routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and redistribution
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve Layer 2 LAN network switching and protocols issues (Spanning Tree, VTP) and QoS
  • Working knowledge of the following network technologies: BGP, OSPF, vPC, Etherchannel, Spanning Tree, QOS, RADIUS, TACACS+, IPsec, SNMP2c/v3, IP Subnetting, 802.1q trunking
  • Troubleshoot and resolve Layer 1/cabling issues and complex wireless issues
  • Working knowledge with Cisco ISE integration
  • Experience with Cisco VOIP, UCS, including phone, Call Manager configuration
  • Troubleshoot and resolve networking incidents and provide high level support for daily operations.
  • Cisco VoIP/video implementation/support experience
  • Proactively resolve potential issues to ensure system availability and reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve networking incidents and provide support daily to users.
  • Proactively resolve potential wireless network issues to ensure system availability and reliability.
  • Monitor device resource utilization and trending for capacity planning.
  • Ability to work weekend and off-hour work when needed
  • Experience in a high volume, 24x7 production environment is a definite plus
  • Understanding LAN/WAN media and protocols

Desired Experience/Skills/Attributes:

  • Experience with Wireless LAN design, implementation, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with Cisco Wireless technologies
  • Knowledge of 5500 Series Wireless controllers and 3700 with security modules , 3800 series, 3600, 3500 & 2700 Access Points, Cisco Mobility Services Engine (MSE) and Cisco Connected Mobile Experiences (CMX)
  • Configuring SSIDs, strong encryption, Captive Web Portal and authentication, authentication between the client and the network using pre-shared keys or Extensible Authentication Protocol (EAP), VPNs, WPA combined with MAC ACLs.
  • Working knowledge of the following network technologies: BGP, OSPF, vPC, Etherchannel, Spanning Tree, QOS, RADIUS, TACACS+, IPsec, SNMPv1/v2c/v3, IP Subnetting, 802.1q trunking, STP, VTP
  • Cisco ASA5500 Next Generation Firewalls and Firepower firewall, AAA, ISE, Radius, IAS, QOS, etc.
  • Strong Knowledge of Wireless Security
  • Experience on Cisco Network environment, including knowledge of installing Cisco Switches, Routers, WAP's and Firewalls
  • IP routing protocols (EIGRP, OSPF, BGP) and redistribution
  • Cisco Prime Infrastructure, Netflow version 9
  • Cisco Application Visibility and Control (AVC), Network-Based Application Recognition 2 (NBAR-2) engine, Cisco's deep packet inspection (DPI) capability, Cisco Application Visibility and Control(AVC),
  • VLAN assignment, QoS, ACL, Cisco Wireless Controller System (WCS), wireless intrusion prevention system (IPS), wireless access points (CAPWAP)
  • Wired speed, nonblocking performance for 802.11n and optimized for 802.11ac networks
  • Knowledge of wireless specifications: IEEE 802.11a, 802.11b, 802.11g, 802.11d, WMM/802.11e, 802.11h, 802.11k, 802.11n, 802.11r, 802.11u, 802.11w, 802.11ac.
  • Knowledge of Wired/Switching/Routing: IEEE 802.3 10BASE-T, IEEE 802.3u 100BASE-TX specification, 1000BASE-T. 1000BASE-SX, 1000-BASE-LH, IEEE 802.1Q Vtagging, and IEEE 802.1AX Link Aggregation.
  • Cisco VOIP, UCS, including phone, Call Manager
  • Working knowledge of at least three (3) years of the following systems: Unix/Linux, Cisco IOS, and Windows Servers.
  • Experience with Visio.
